Before participating in any fitness program it is important for you to asses your health to determine whether there
are any undue risks or restrictions that would impact your fitness plans. The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology has developed
a set of excellent health assesment tools that will help you determine what impact, if any, your current health condition will have
on your fitness program.
The following document should be used by everyone planning to participate in a fitness program and should be reviewed yearly or
whenever your health condition changes.
Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire
If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, you will want to have the safest pregnancy possible. By printing
the following document and asking your doctor to review it with you, you will be taking steps that will help ensure your safety and
the safety of your baby. Discuss your fitness plans with your doctor and ask if any restrictions are necessary.
PARmed-X for Pregnancy
If you have filled out and honestly answered "No" to the PAR-Q questions, or reviewed these forms with your doctor, you are
ready to take the next step in Starting Your Exercise Program.
